The Budget Committee is an advisory committee of the City Council. Seven citizens and all Council Members serve on the Budget Committee. Citizen members are appointed by Council. The committee’s primary responsibilities include:
- Meeting publicly to review and discuss the budget document that is written and presented by the City’s Budget Officer.
- Approve the budget, as well as property tax rates per $1,000 of assessed value.
Are you interested in having a voice as to how tax dollars are spent in Halsey? If so, you should consider applying for the Budget Committee! The Committee meets 1-2 times per year in the Spring. Applications are accepted in January and February of each year. Applicants must be registered voters and reside within City limits.
